Patrícia Dias

is an Assistant Professor at Universidade Católica Portuguesa, researcher at CECC — Research Centre for Communication and Culture and CRC-W — Católica Research Centre in Psychology, Family and Social Wellbeing, and member of the Executive Board of CEPCEP — Research Centre on Peoples and Cultures. She also coordinates the post-graduate courses Social Brands — Communication and Marketing in a Digital Environment and Communication and Content Marketing. Holding a PhD in Communication Sciences by Universidade Católica Portuguesa, her main research interests are the use of digital media by children and also within organizational communication, marketing and branding. In 2019, she was a visiting researcher at the Arctic University of Norway. She is currently working on digital disconnection in partnership with the Universities of Oslo and Bergen, and she leads the Portuguese team of the project “Use of Digital Technologies by Children and Teenagers during the COVID-19 Pandemic in Europe”, coordinated by the JRC-European Commission. She is author of several publications about the social impact of digital media and the use of smartphones.
