Anabela Mendes

Anabela Mendes (1951) is Professor at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon and is senior researcher in the Research Center for Communication and Culture of the Portuguese Catholic University. She researches and lectures on: Literature in German, German Culture, Aesthetics and Philosophy of Art, Travel Literature, Science and Literature, Modernity and Vanguards, Theatre Theory and Aesthetics, Sociology of Performing Arts,and has a vast number of publications in these areas. She keeps a regular presence and activity in theatre, writing, translation, dramaturgy and stage direction. In recent years she has organized and commissioned several international transdisciplinarian conferences inLisbon, Berlin and Goa. She is a long distance traveler.
