Roberto Carneiro

is the Emeritus President of the Research Centre on Peoples and Cultures (CEPCEP) and Professor of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP). His areas of teaching mainly have been Knowledge Management, Leadership, Globalization and Social Change, and Innovation Policy. In the research field, Roberto Carneiro had conducted European and national projects dealing with his main fields of expertise: Education, Human Resources, Economics of Education, Future and Foresight Studies, ICT impacts on society and culture, Migrations. A former Portuguese Minister of Education (1987-91), and Secretary of State of Education and of Regional and Local Government (1980-1983), Roberto Carneiro has extensive international experience with the World Bank, UNESCO, OECD, European Union, Council of Europe and other development agencies, and served as a member of the UNESCO International Commission on Education in the 21st Century. He is Doctor Honoris Causa by the Universidade Aberta and by the Universidade Católica Portuguesa. He has over 450 papers published in 5 languages and about 20 books covering his main fields of study.
