Filippo Deorsola

(they/them) Is a queer Italian pianist, composer, and researcher based in Brussels Belgium. They have worked in various contexts, notably with their trio “Anaphora” with whom they released a first album, Lexicon I, with the Italian label Auand in April 2022. Their second album, [Bloom], will be released in January 2025 with Loumi Records. As sideman, they have recorded a duo album for CleanFeed (2023). Their ongoing multidisciplinary research in improvisational processes and their relevance in queering artistic and epistemological practices is funded by several institutions (VGC 2023, Culture Moves Europe 2023, Italy Music Export 2022, Keep an Eye 2024, Krokus Jazz 2022). Their practice takes various shapes, ranging from cultural organisor of projects and festivals to composer, sound artist and performer to textual research.
