Delfim Correia da Silva

Delfim Correia da Silva completed his M. A. in Portuguese-French from the University of Aveiro, Portugal, M. Phil in Multidisciplinary Portuguese Studies from Universidade Aberta, Lisbon. He started his career as a full time Secondary School teacher in 1991 and has vast experience of teaching Portuguese as Foreign Language. He was a Lecturer at St.Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia and at the St. Cyril & St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo (Bulgaria). He also taught at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India and is at present a lecturer at the University of Goa and Head of CLP/Camões-Goa. His favorite pastime is to discover new and far off places, crossing rivers, climbing mountains and going down the valleys on bicycle (whenever he can take time off from his very busy schedule). In Goa, he has undertaken some expeditions along some remote areas of the ten talukas (erstwhile provinces) of the territory, cycling through the dense forest of Krishnapuri or riding his bicycle to well known and popular places such as the Rachol Seminaryor Cabo de Rama, where one can still see the indelible Portuguese presence in architecture and learning.
