Daniel Tavares

Is an Adjunct Professor at the School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo and at the University of Minho, at the Institute of Social Sciences. He graduated in Portuguese and Lusophone Studies from the University of Minho, where he took his doctorate with a thesis on the poetic (self) portrait. He is a researcher at the Centre for Humanistic Studies and a member of the Research Group on Identity(ies) and Intermediality(ies) - Group 2i. He has carried out research into poetry and (self)portraiture, with a particular focus, more recently, on questions of ageing and extinction.
