Abstract

Combining Social Work, Human Rights and Intercultural Relations has been a challenging task. In Europe and the member states, which are facing the greatest migration mobility in decades, social and political scientists, debate and research, about the situation created with the arrival of these new migrant groups. The questions are: who are they, what are they looking for, and what can Europe give them in terms of better opportunities. It is urgent to find the right ways to manage this new phenomenon. This implies, besides fidelity to some of the fundamental European values, such as solidarity, equality, and justice, putting into practice a set of skills that social actors cannot reject, in order to respond to the basic needs and to the realization of human rights in every citizen.
