This book aims to contribute to a systematized study of essential aspects related to the management of Portuguese museums. As this is a vast and diversified field of subjects with a practical approach, we have started by marking out several key areas such as the management of human and financial resources, and marketing, which we consider structural from an administrative point of view. We believe that this aspect should not assume, as sometimes happens, any less positive connotation. With the Museum becoming one of the most popular, sought, and demanding cultural institutions, it becomes necessary to look at the management of resources as a quality response to essential questions: which methodologies, which criteria, which models, and which instruments. That is the survey attempted in this paper. Professionals will determine its usefulness.
