Inês Espada Vieira is a lecturer at the Faculty of Human Sciences and a researcher at CECC, Universidade Católica Portuguesa. She holds a PhD in Culture Studies from the same university. She obtained an M.A. in Comparative Literature at Universidade Nova de Lisboa. She was the executive coordinator of the Portuguese presence as guest country in Spain’s 2002 LIBER Book Fair in Barcelona. She has published articles and co-edited books on Portuguese literature and culture and on the Spanish writer Gonzalo Torrente Ballester. 

Helena Gonçalves da Silva is Associate Professor of German Literature and Culture Studies at the Faculty of Arts, Universidade de Lisboa. She holds a Ph.D. in German Literature from London University. She is also researcher and member of the Scientific Board of the Research Center for Communication and Culture (CECC). She has published extensively on German literature and culture, edited and co-edited books on the image of the metropolis in literature and, on European memory such as Conflict, Memory Transfers and the Reshaping of Europe (2010). 

Maria Laura Bettencourt Pires is Full Professor and Director of the on-line journal Gaudium Scientia of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa Scientific Society. She has lectured at the following universities: Nova; Aberta; Georgetown and Brown. Publications include, among others: Portuguese Public Intellectuals - The Disquieting Muses (2011); University Teaching-From Crisis to Innovation (2007), Cultural Theory (2004, 2007), Essays-Notes and Reflections (2000), American Culture and Society (1997), William Beckford and Portugal (1987).
